Warm and Sunny

We have been really busy with the temple and family history. We were assigned one regular shift at the temple (Saturdays from 11am to 5pm) along with our substituting. It is nice to see the same people on Saturday and start making friends with the other workers. We are still surprised at how busy the St. George temple is all day long, every day.

We are loving the weather down here. 60 degrees and sunny most days. Next week is suposed to be even warmer. Some people we talked to in our ward on Sunday said that they consider February to be Spring. We feel so bad for everyone back home as we listen to the weather on TV and hear about your cold temperatures, inversions, bad air and all of the snow. 



We were on our way to the family history center yesterday and noticed a young lady with a flat tire in the parking lot. We stopped to see if we could help. She had a little donut spare and a jack but no tools. To start with she needed an allen wrench to get her hub caps off (which we didn't have). A young fellow that sells tools stopped by to see if he could help (I think our grey hair helped influnce him to stop) he drove to his shop and got an allen wrench. She had put some fancy wheel on the car and a regular lug wrench wouldn't fit the nuts, so this same guy drove back to his shop and got a different lug wrench. When we got the tire off we could see that she had bent the rim so the tire would not seal to the wheel. She was a college student looking for a job and was quite unhappy about the whole situation. Anyway we finally got her to a tire shop. It was so nice to see how willing this young man was to help. He said that he had been inactive in the church for the past 10 years and tries to help people when he can. He said it was how he paid his tithing. There are so many good people around - sometimes we hear so much about the bad people that we forget how many good people there are.

We don't have internet in the condo so we have been going to Barnes and Noble (free wifi) to check emails and blogs. We don't know how long we will be here so it's not worth trying to start internet service - so we may not be as quick responding to emails etc.

Nothing new on visas but we are enjoying our work here.
