Snow

We were sad to see Elder and Sister Benson leave unexpectedly. Sister Benson fell down on Thursday and broke her wrist. They left to go back home for surgery on Saturday. We will miss them - this was either their 3rd or 4th senior mission.

On Thursday we drove to Bucharest for our zone conference/Christmas party. President and Sister Hill invited us to stay with them over night. We really enjoy being with them, they are such good people. We stopped by the Mission Office and the missionaries had been decorating. They are always full of so much energy.

 

Friday was the zone conference, the missionaries do most of the training. It is fun to be part of it.

Most of the morning was spent getting the Christmas dinner ready for the missionaries. Elder and Sister Baker and Elder and Sister Francom had done so much work. They were able to buy American hams, pies and root beer through the American Embassy.

Tables were decorated and it looked so festive.

Ready to start serving. The missionaries got ham, funeral potatoes, green beans, rolls, root beer and pie.

It is amazing how much 70 missionaries can eat.  There was food left over and they had all they could eat. There was a scarf/tie gift exchange after the dinner and they all had a great time.

We were in Feldoiara with the missionaries and when we came down the road they turned on their Christmas lights. Most of the town had come out to watch. It surprised us because we weren't expecting it - they really were pretty.

Out in the small towns we see these brooms made from tree branches tied together. They do fine outdoors but indoors they leave a trail of leaves. Eventually all the leaves fall off.

The group leader, Bro. Levi, brought a little Christmas tree that Patrick had fun decorating.

One of the sisters taught the Sunday School lesson. It was her first time teaching a class and she was a little nervous but did a great job. Notice the fire in the stove - it has been really cold lately. The fire took some of the chill off but most of us kept our coats, gloves and hats on during the meeting.
