We have attended three district conferences during the last three weeks; Chisinau, Oradea, Bucharest. This is a picture of the Oradea Conference. Elder Powell had to preside because Pres. Hill was in Paris attending a Mission President Seminar. The conference went well with about 80 people attending from 4 branches.
This past Sunday was the Bucharest Conference which is the largest member district in Romania. There are 9 branches in this district and we had about 150 members attend. Many of the members get up at 5am and ride a bus 3-4 hours to attend then ride the bus home again at night. They are very dedicated and have a lot of faith. They bring their own sack lunch and it makes a long day for them. The temple president from the Kiev temple and his wife spoke at the conference.
We enjoyed seeing many of our friends from Constanta.

ReplyDeleteI picture the two of you like Fred & Wilma Flinstone, using your feet to help the car keep going up the mountain. Hilarious! It sounds like these district meetings are like stake conference. I don't know many Utah saints who would take a bus 3 hours one way to go to stake conference. We can learn a lot from these Romanian saints!
