New Mission Assignment

The visa situation into Brazil has not been looking very hopeful. The last word we got was that it would most likely be June or July. The Temple Dept. asked if we would like a new mission assignment. After much thought and prayer, we told them that we would accept a new assignment. The 18 months for our mission started ticking on January 7 and we felt like we needed to get to work. On Wednesday, March 6th the temple dept. called and said that they had released our name back into the general missionary pool for reassignment.  The next day on Thursday March 7th,  we got a call from the Western Europe Missionary Department informing us that we had been called to serve in the Romania/Moldova Mission and that we were to leave on Monday for Romania. We were SO surprised. We thought that another foreign mission was out of the question because we only have 16 months left and it usually takes so long to get visas. We were so excited!! But we only had a few days to try and get everything ready to leave. We had been preparing for a much warmer climate so we had to re-think our packing. We also had to run to Salt Lake to get our passports back. We will go into Romania with a tourist visa and will apply for longer visas while we are there. Devin took us to the airport at 5am Monday morning. We can't speak a word of Romania and won't be getting any language training other than what we can do on our own. What an adventure.
